Health survey results.
In November, all the
students in the Comenius partnership completed a “Health Behaviour in
School-Aged Children (HBSC) Survey", including 29 students from The Totteridge
Academy. The UK results were collated,
summarised and illustrated by members of the Club. Some of the findings
include the following:
Fortunately the
majority of the participants admit that they hadn’t been in a physical fight in
the last 12 months. As for friends, our pupils have a wide range of friends of
both genders.
On weekdays the
majority spend 1 hour on the computer while the minority spend 5 hours.
Nobody rated their
health as ‘poor’ whereas 18 out of 29
chose ‘good’ and 10 chose ‘excellent’. Relatively, 10 pupils exercise for 1
hour a day but only 1 student admitted that they never exercise. Other results
vary around half an hour to more than 7 hours a day.
On weekdays, 3
people don’t watch TV at all, 4 watch for approximately half an hour, 5 people
for 1 hour, 12 for 2 hours, 6 for 3
hours, 3 for 4 hours, 2 for 5 hours and 3 for 6 hours a day.
Most participants
said that their family is quite well off. 1 person said that their family isn’t
so well off. The 2nd most
popular choice was ‘average’ and then ‘very well off’.
